LIVVO Volcan Lanzarote

I have always liked this hotel because of the amazing architecture - it's like being in the middle of a typical village built around a volcano. None of the newer hotels, most of them soulless cement blocks, can compare with this one, which is beautiful, both inside and out. The rooms, continuing the same theme, are spacious, well insulated and clean. The staff is both friendly and helpful. However my third visit to Volcan Lanzarote was disappointing. Maybe it's because of the pandemic, or inflation, or because of a change of management, but I found that both the food and the entertainment on offer was not as good as in previous years. The a la carte restaurant was closed, so the only option in the evening was the buffet. The hot food there wasn't at all appetizing - a hodgepodge reminiscent of school cafeterias, although the salads and desserts were OK. You'd think that a five-star hotel would have slightly better food than that... As for the entertainment, the pub was open just three days a week. There are really only one or two decent shows, the rest of the entertainment seems to be lounge singers. There are two activities every day, such as aqua gym or yoga but on Sundays everything stops - no activites, no music, no nothing. And kids. There ALWAYS seems to be kids here, even during the off season when they're supposed to be in school. There's an adults only section in the hotel, but the pool is tiny and can't compare to the other great pools at Volcan. And I must say that Volcan offers first class pool facilities, including several outdoor heated pools. It's just a shame that the at best ones you also have to put up with all the splashing and screaming. The good news is that the spa (sauna, hammam and jacuzzi) is now free as long as you book in advance ! All in all, I would rate Livvo Volcan four stars, mainly because of the limited food and entertainment options. I also think Volcan should consider becoming an adults only hotel, at least during the off season.

Everything about this hotel was exceptional. We opted for the adults only club which had a private heated pool with pool bar & spectacular views towards Fuertaventura. Breakfast was included which was great , huge selection to choose from . Our room was well equipped & spotless , with a fantastic view over the harbour . Massive TV & English TV channels. The entrance to the hotel is through a chapel which has hundreds of lit candles & soft music playing , awesome ! All of the staff were professional & courteous!!!! Credit to them ! We only got to know one member of staff by name , lovely Angie , from the breakfast & pool bar . But rest assured , every member we met were superb ! Location is great for Marina Rubicon & it's restaurants, there were plenty of supermarkets nearby as well . It's advisable to book restaurants in advance otherwise you could be left to queue . We will definitely be visiting the Vulcan hotel again . It totally exceeded our expectations. Thank you to all staff for a fantastic & relaxing holiday ! Great job !!!!!!

Our 4th visit to the hotel in club volcan. Some recent improvements, artificial grass around the pool area replaced by tiles. Very good. Towels replaced too! Service excellent provided by very professional staff. Breakfast in club volcan is excellent as is the free bar in the pre dinner evening. Only issues are, the room towels need replacing, they are old and rough. Also in the Habana bar in the evenings it is hit or miss whether a coffee is available. Having said all that we will be returning next year!
