This is a very good hotel in a great location in San Augustin. It is right on the beach, there are bus stops within a 5 minute walk from the hotel with a pharmacy and supermarket just by the bus stop. We took the bus to Masapalomas which was 40 minutes, the return journey by taxi was abort 10-15. The buses are not necessarily the most direct route but you do get to see the island! The shopping centre at San Augustin which well caters for holiday souvenirs is about a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel along the boardwalk by the beach. Our room was a great size but facing the mountains/car park. Not a brilliant view but not a problem for us. Mini bar was adequate but choice was limited. TBF we didn't ask for any other drinks when we were there so not sure what could have been done. Nespresso machine was good. We used all the restaurants and bars during our stay. The a la carte restaurants were all good or very good. The Italian was least inspiring and the local cuisine restaurant the best. We found all the food at the al lar carte restaurants to be freshly cooked and a good temperature. We had the wine pairing at the Peseta restaurant which was excellent though came with a Euro35 pp price tag. A disappointing feature was that some "top shelf" spirits and most of the wine list were all extra - and some significantly extra. The house wines were Ok but got repetitive after a while. To offer a 5* all inclusive experience then these should be included. And so to breakfast and the temperature of the cooked food. It did vary. If you were able to get food that has just been cooked (e.g. fried eggs) then temperature was ok. If your choice had been under the heat lamps for a while then generally it was warm at best - sometimes cold. The hotel seem to recognise this but yet nothing has been done to improve the situation - again another contributing factor to this not being 5* review. The hotel and ground are kept impressively clean. The pool was warm. The staff do a great job and the general level of welcome and service from all that we engaged with was first class. Would we stay at this hotel again - the answer is yes though we do hope some better heat lamps have been installed!!!

Booked through Tui. We had an Oceanfront Premium Double Room with Balcony - The room is very small with a tiny balcony. The balcony is just wide enough for two uncomfortable deck chairs and a small table. The two-seater sofa converts to a sofa bed. It's too low and uncomfortable to sit on for long periods. Very small shower room with wc. Surprised that such a new hotel had such small rooms. Our tenth winter break in the Canaries, most expensive and worst room. Very attractive grounds, pools and easy walks along the seafront. Evening entertainment was limited to musical acts in the bar area some nights. No theatre. Gastro Hall - The food offering is repetitive, really average and unthemed compared to previous all-inclusive. High point was an amazing array of shellfish on our last night. Service is poor, most days never offered coffee at breakfast and we used machines for coffee/tea. Simlarly lunch and dinner, getting water and a glass of wine was a major task. The wines are really average and unlike previous all-inclusives by the glass and not given a bottle. Upselling - All the restaurants try to upsell wine/food at ridiculous prices. Other restaurents - Lemon Fish - great location for a post dinner drink, shame live music finishes too early. Didn't eat here, too much raw fish and watched staff in meltdown one night with really delayed food. Kanna - had lunch and dinner here. OK but not good enough to want to go back. Mascalzone - limited unexciting menu and my wife was violently ill later in the evening. Pesata - reception booked this as the App failed. Limited menu looks good but doesn't deliver. App - useless, can't book some restaurants, doesn't always show bookings, especially if done thru reception, reminders are hit and miss, mainly miss. Watch out for the Melia subscription hardsell, we declined and watched various couples being worn down for over an hour at a time to subscribe. We'd planned our break to be away from school holidays but the hotel was full of very young children and no Adults Only areas. Plus points, exceptionally clean, tidied every day, minibar restocked every day (soft drinks and beer). Great gin and tonics. Weather was amazing about 30C everyday and blue in early November. We're in the fortunate position that this was our tenth week away this year and we enjoyed our week away but would not go back.

Wanted to rate it 3.5 stars Just stayed here for 10 days with my boyfriend, we enjoyed our stay but there is a lot of room for improvement in the buffet, which let this place down. There were a lot of good things about this hotel, so I’ll start with the pros: Pros - drinks were good in most places - the food in Vibra bar was very nice and we ate here most nights when we weren’t booked into one of the special restaurants (the cookie dessert is great) - the rooms are very clean and the maids did a great job - plenty of sun-beds available during the day - pool towels were good and you could take as many as you wanted/ no pool cards - the rooms was nice and the bed was comfy - the Italian restaurant was the best one and we enjoyed a few meals here - ladies at reception are helpful and friendly - the shack for lunch was good and we ate there most days, where one guy runs around and does all the work and is very happy while doing so - mini fridge in the room is good and was stocked everyday Cons - the buffet food was always cold and the same selection every day (for breakfast, lunch and dinner) which’s gets very boring when you’re here for 10 days - food in the buffet was either cold/raw or overcooked and hard most days - our shower would overflow after being in there for about 5 mins which wasn’t great as I had to rush getting ready incase it flooded the room - there needs to be a bigger selection of entertainment both in the day and the evening as the only entertainment in the day is fitness based. It would be nice for some games as well. - the bands at night are good but it would be nice to have something to watch some days like a show - we had to leave the TV on at night so we couldn’t hear the road or the entertainment venue next door It was mostly the buffet that let this place down especially at breakfast as it is the only place to go and the pancakes/ waffles are always cold or stale. The hot breakfast items are often cold and the sausages were sometimes pink in the middle which put us off eating them. Getting a drink in the buffet is also hard work and something we would have finished our meal without getting one at all. There is also not much to do in the area and the local town isn’t the best either so you have to take the bus or a taxi to do anything.
