Wyndham Grand Algarve

Have just returned from a lovely week at the hotel. We have been to Quinta a number of times but our first time staying here. First off - the staff are superb. In particular the breakfast / eatery staff. Just lovely and a credit to the hotel. On the whole I think it was good value for money compared to other places. The room was good. The only negative for me was the storage. We had a suite which meant the children were set up on a pleasantly sizeable sofa bed but there was no storage for clothes and very little for us ourselves in the main bedroom. It would definitely benefit from a couple of drawer units as the children had to live out of the case. Couple of issues with requesting things from reception and having to chase 2 or 3 times before receiving them. We also had an ant issue in the kitchen that we reported a number of times and was never sorted. We ended up just storing anything edible in the fridge and living with the ants which wasn’t ideal The pool area was good and there were plenty of beds available. Like anywhere, some were reserved from early on but there were always enough spare. The kids loved the outdoor area where they could play football etc safely and we knew where they were. The Thai massages by the pool were amazing and I loved that you didn’t have to go off to the spa if you didn’t want to. The lady there was great! I also thought the themed afternoons with birds and reptiles were a fun addition. The hotel runs a great shuttle to the beach. They can also reserve beds at one of the beaches for you which is handy. Quite noisy from the suites into the evening. We weren’t sure where the music was coming from but it was quite loud! Like anywhere, it wasn’t perfect but I would say the positives definitely outweighed the negatives. Just trying to give a detailed balanced review for anyone else travelling as a family!

Where do I start ! Wasted best part of 6.5k on our 2 week family holiday , long story short room not cleaned / like living on motorway/had to be up at 7am or you didn’t get sun bed /run out of ice cream /waited nearly 15 min for massage then left nobody arrived , kids kicking football in pool nothing done / air con struggled and not enough clothes storage I could go on , Avoid this place and go to Conrad it’s 5 star !
