Meeru Island Resort & Spa

The end of another amazing stay! Our previous stays didn’t include the AI dine around, which we really enjoyed this time. Our favourite was A-Mare. We stayed in a Water Front Villa this time, which we really liked. The open air bathroom took a bit of getting used to though 😳. Suresh, Saeed and Shiju looked after us very well in the Dhoni Bar and made my sister’s birthday feel so special. We can’t wait to return … again!

This was a very beautiful resort. It has its plusses and minuses. Everything is contained on the island that you need, but you better like to walk a bit. We had a rom over the water but we were third from the end and it would take a good almost 5 - 7 minutes to walk down to it. So if you forget something in your room, it really stinks. On the other hand, being near the end is very quiet and isolated. The other part with the rooms towards the end is the current is much much stronger and they don't necessarily advise going off your deck there. No big deal, but might be better to be more in the middle. The room itself was spacious. The bathroom is open air ... covered, but completely open air. So in the middle of the night if you have to go to the bathroom, you definitely go from cool air conditioned room to a warm bathroom. These are not complaints just facts of the situation. The housekeeping staff was amazing taking care of the room. Everything you needed was taken care of without even asking most of the time. The main restaurant is a pretty good restaurant. They vary the type of foods each night. Breakfast had every choice you would want. The staff again is very friendly and courteous. We made use of the spa several times, and it was a very good experience. There are two on the island a land and water spa. We did our treatments at that water spa. It's priced very much like a spa in the U.S. and they do an excellent job. If you get a chance, I would recommend the full day Turtle Explorer on the Yacht. It's limited to 10 people. The yacht was amazing and they had a chef on board making a wonderful lunch. The guides were great and one of the best tour trips we had. Meeru is a great place to get away and we enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.

Bed was super comfy in the jacuzzi beach villas. Whole island amazingly clean and well maintained. Staff always very friendly and helpful. Food and drinks of a very high standard with a good variety to choose from. Restaurant chefs are very funny in the evening and can’t do enough for you. They would even cook you a separate meal if needed. Had an amazing holiday on a very beautiful island.
