The AMARA is situated in a stunning location, just a short distance away from the royal ancient kingdom of Amathus, which dates back to 1100 BC. Its name is from the Greek word Amarantos – which means everlasting – and like its name, during the construction of the hotel, part of Limassol's ancient city walls were discovered - this is a great feature of the Spa, where you can see these well preserved ruins.

The AMARA strives to make their guests’ stay truly unforgettable. Inspired by Cyprus’ rich culture, you’ll find natural wood and marble fittings as part of the hotel’s décor. Plus, each of the 207 rooms and suites have a gorgeous panoramic view of the Mediterranean Sea.

Relax amongst the understated luxury and effortless elegance of the architecture and furnishings. There are numerous art pieces around the hotel, some large and make a statement, others small and delicate - look for the tiny statues of birds and people! There is an excellent range of facilities and the AMARA is well suited to both families and couples, with easy access to the beach where you'll find shallow waters perfect for little toes. We would also recommend a day out exploring the bustling city of Limassol, where you’ll find lots of bars and restaurants. There are also four 18-hole golf courses, which are just a 30-40 minute drive away, plus a wide-range of shops. The hotel itself is home to fashion, jewellery and art galleries, where you can pick up gifts and souvenirs.

When it comes to dining, you’ll be spoilt for choice, with restaurants from expert chefs, Nobu Matsuhisa, Giorgio Locatelli and Riccardo Giraudi. Matsuhisa Limassol

World-renowned Chef Nobu Matsuhisa has created an extensive and original menu at Matsuhisa Limassol. With a unique combination of Japanese-Peruvian cuisine, guests can enjoy fantastic dishes such as Salmon karashi su miso, Black Cod with miso, White fish dry miso, Rock shrimp tempura, New style sashimi and NOBU sushi and sashimi, all of which can be paired with exotic cocktails or an wide range of sake.

The restaurant space, designed by David Rockwell, features a separate private dining room that can also be used for Japanese whisky tasting.

Designed around the archaeological finds of Limassols ancient city walls – discovered when the hotel was being constructed, these well preserved relics of a bygone time will add to the sense of being somewhere really special.

Amara is located on a sandy beach along Cyprus’ sunny south coast.

Here you’ll find gently lapping waves, as well as sun loungers and parasols.

The Kids’ Club is available to children of all ages, from toddlers to teens, and offers a full day of fun activities and games. Kids can make new friends, as well as trying out educational activities. About the location

The AMARA is located on the south coast of Cyprus, close to a golden sandy beach, as well as the fascinating archaeological site, the ancient kingdom of Amathus. It’s just minutes from the bustling centre of Limassol, where you’ll find a pretty marina and a wide selection of restaurants, bars, activities and attractions for both adults and families.

There are four 18-hole golf courses within a 30 minute drive of the hotel, as well as the beautiful lake town of Foinikaria. If you prefer to explore further afield, Limassol is ideal for boat trips, as well as offering a selection of water sports.
