Preskil Island Resort offers an unparalleled Mauritian luxury experience. The resort carries its name well, “presque-ile” meaning “almost an island” in French. This 4-star superior family hotel is set on a private peninsula at Pointe Jérôme, a peaceful 3.5-hectare islet in the southeast of the island. The resort is fringed with alabaster beaches and the ubiquitous turquoise lagoon, which is teeming with prismatic marine life. Guests can dissolve into the stunning views of Ile Aux Aigrettes and Lion Mountain just across the water while they sip on delicious local cocktails and cuisine that will tickle the taste buds.

Preskil Island Resort is just a 15-minute drive from the airport, but happily, the hotel does not have any noise disturbance. If you want to stretch your legs, then the historic village of Mahébourg, where you’ll find authentic restaurants and bars, is a leisurely 45-minute stroll away.

The whole resort underwent an extensive refurbishment recently. Guests can now expect a stylish, understated, luxury family resort that reflects its colonial past. Preskil Island Resort is one of the few places on the island that still feels authentically Mauritian - set in lush gardens, it homes classically tropical, Creole-style buildings with thatched roofs. The 214 contemporary rooms are decorated in cool tones of white, teak and marble. The hotel is perfect for honeymooners to larger families: rooms range from doubles to 2-bedroom suites that can accommodate up to 3 children under 18. All rooms offer breathtaking views of the lagoon, Lion Mountain, and the neighbouring islands.

With a creche, a kids’ club and a teens’ club, there’s plenty to keep the under-18s happy. Preskil has curated a wide range of fun, entertaining activities for kids of all ages, including children's menus in the restaurants, plenty of watersports and boat trips to neighbouring islands. Families can hire electric-bikes at the reception and explore the island independently.

Baby Club

Open from 9am – 5pm, the baby club is suitable for babies of three months to three years old upon reservation only. The first four hours are free of charge with additional fees thereafter. Here you’ll find a dedicated area for babies so they can nap, play, and eat. There is also a changing area and four super comfort cribs, manned by qualified staff. The children can enjoy messy play, sensory and educational activities as well as a special baby menu.

About the location

Located in the Indian Ocean just off the east coast of Madagascar, Mauritius is fast making a name for itself as the alternative to the Seychelles for those who want a tropical island experience with a healthy dose of authenticity.
